Dr. Matt Ferrin is the pediatric dentist at Oso Pediatric Dentistry and a proud Conejo Valley native. Born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California, Dr. Matt is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality pediatric dental care to children and families throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

Dr. Ferrin earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2022. He then completed two years of advanced specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, graduating in 2024. During his residency, he gained extensive experience caring for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with a wide range of dental needs, including those with dental anxiety, special healthcare needs, and complex treatment requirements.

Dr. Matt believes that positive early dental experiences lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. He strives to make every visit enjoyable, educational, and stress-free by combining a gentle approach with evidence-based pediatric dental care. He has a special interest in minimally invasive and atraumatic restorative techniques that help preserve healthy tooth structure while maximizing comfort for young patients.

To help every child receive the care they need in the most comfortable setting possible, Dr. Matt offers a full spectrum of behavior guidance and treatment options. These include oral conscious sedation for children who may benefit from additional relaxation during treatment, as well as comprehensive dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia when extensive dental treatment or a child’s age, anxiety, or medical needs make treatment in the office impractical or unsafe. His priority is always to provide safe, individualized care while creating positive dental experiences for both children and their families.

As the father of two young boys, Dr. Matt understands firsthand the trust parents place in their child’s dentist. He is committed to treating every child with the same patience, kindness, and compassion he would want for his own family.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Matt spent two years living in Mendoza, Argentina, where he became fluent in Spanish. He enjoys building relationships with Spanish-speaking families and providing clear communication so every parent feels informed and comfortable throughout their child’s dental care.

Dr. Matt is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
